I have a 1998 90 Johnson which i have been wanting to test the buzzer for the water temp sensor, I know this might be pretty basic for some on this forum but i am new to boating,

I found the sensors on the block each has one tan wire off of them, now what?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, What you need to do is simple. Just unplug the brown wire at the sensor on the head (It may have a shrink tube on it that you may need to take off) and turn the key switch to the on position. Touch the control side of the brown wire to any bare metal on the motor like the base of the spark plug and listen for the buzzer. If it doen't sound you have a bad buzzer.  Marinermikes
