I have a 1988 bayliner w/ twin OMC outdrives. My shift cut-out switch(also known as the interrupt switch) needs to be adjusted on the starboard motor.  I've looked in two OMC repair manuals and can't seem to find how to adjust it properly. I'm positive that this is the problem after I replaced the distributor and coil. Any information would be helpful.

Hello you will need to verify if cable is free as the interrupt switch will engage when resistance is put on cable when shifting and should only activate when coming out of gear. When adjusting the switch it should return to center of V notch when shifting. any restriction in cable or outdrive will activate switch and stall engine. I have factory manuals available to assist. any questions call me at 631-514-1525 thanks Ralph
