I don't want to sounds like too much of a dummy, but, I can't seem to find an answer to what seems to be a simple question. I have a Johnson 30Hp outboard (duh) ~ 1995 . The prop was slipping under some conditions so I bought a new one. I noticed when I pulled the old prop, there was no torque at all on the nut, in fact it was just barley touching the washer. This caused me to wonder just how tight it should be. I found one article that said 55lbs, but mine has a fiber washer, so there is no way i can put 55lbs torque on a fiber washer.

What is the proper method/torque for the prop nut?
