I own a 2000, 150HP V6 outboard Johnson motor.
After putting it in the water for the summer, the motor started up OK, however at idle speed it was running very rough and emitting white smoke. My concern is there are small spots of oil coming out of the exhaust.
I did take it out on the lake and ran it at 3500 RPM, it did seem to run good and did not miss. but when I returned to the dock at idle speed it was running roughly, smoking again and discharging spots of oil again . Do you think this will correct itself or do I need a mechanic?
