When I shift in gear, it dies out.  Same if I shift in reverse.  I need to choke it to start it again, even if it is warmed up.  Once I get passed a certain RPM, it runs like it's brand new, but if I was trying to pull a skier and put the throttle down, it would die as soon as I gave it throttle.  Any ideas?  (New plugs, good fuel already done)

It sounds like your low speed carb adjustment are off.  They my need turned out a little.  the motor came with a adjustment on the front of the motor that turned all three at the same time but most of them broke over the years.. you may need to take the plastic plugs out of the front of the air box and do them indiviually.   Mike
