Hi Ralph, I have a 1984 115 Evinrude. The engine is running below normal operating temp. I have the OMC temp gauge hooked up. It does not even go up to where the numbers start at 120 degrees. Its only running around 100 degrees. I just installed everything in the themostat cover new (thermostats, grommets, relief valves and springs) I took it out on the bay this morning and it still does not get hot even running at 4500 rpm. The heads are only warm to the touch. Whats next ? Thanks, Rich

Hello I would try clear hose from cylinder heads to thermostat housing to verify water flow at idle. should have restricted flow until warm 145 degrees
